RULES & REGULATIONS
1 LAW OF THE GAME / RULES
1.1 The Championship will be conducted under the present rules of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the World Chinese Badminton Federation (WCBF) EXCEPT that the Scoring System will be based on one game of 31 rally points system.
1.2 All Name and Age must be based on passport. Computation of Age is based on year of birth. (Example: Date of birth 1986. Age = 2012-1987=25 years old )
1.3 Each player is allowed a maximum of 2 events. (Including 3P event)
Each player is allowed only one category of combined age 100-160 years and 3P
event.
Each player is NOT allowed to participate in same event of different Age Category.
(eg - A player participate in the 40S CANNOT take part in the 45S, including the
Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Husband/Wife categories.)
1.4 Players from different country are allowed to partner each other.
1.5 The professional and retired players who over ages of 45 can participate in the
AMATEUR Events Category but No allowed two professional and retired players to
pair.
1.6 The professional and retired players who under ages of 45 must participate in the
OPEN Events Category and can’t participate in the AMATEUR Events Category.
1.7 Age for Husband & Wife Doubles will be determined by the husband’s age.
1.8 Players of older category may take part in the younger age category events.
1.9 Event of the same age category may be combined when either one has less
than three pairs (players); or, may be cancelled if total entry is still less than
three.
1.10 Players MUST bring photo identification document (ex. ID or Passport) for
verification when necessary.
1.11 Entry Fee: RMB$100 or USD$20.00 per player (includes Entry Fee 、T-
Shirt、Insurance、Transportation & Farewell Dinner party).
2 EVENT CATEGORIES
2.1 The tournament shall comprise 3 main categories of events by Age Group namely: the AMATEUR Events Category and the OPEN Events Category and the VIP Events.
3 OPEN EVENTS CATEGORY
3.1 3.1.1. No limit to nations, ages of players.
3.1.2. Each player is allowed a maximum of 2 events. And the player can’t take part
in the AMATEUR Events Category when he (she) took part in the OPEN
Events Category.
3.2 The type of events in the OPEN Category are as follows:
(1) Men’s Singles (2) Men’s Doubles (3) Women’s Singles
(4) Women’s Doubles (5) Mixed Doubles
4 AMATEUR EVENTS CATEGORY
4.1 The events in the Amateur Category are:
Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Husband/Wife Doubles, Combined-Age Doubles, 3P.
4.2 The type of events in the Age Groupings for the AMATEUR Category are as follows:
4.2.1. Age 25 - 39 years: 25-29, 30-34, 35-39
4.2.2. Age 40 - 59 years: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59
4.2.3. Age 60 - 79 years: 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79
4.2.4. Age 80 years above: 80-84, 85 & above
4.2.5. Combined Age 100 (Each player’s age 40 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.6. Combined Age 110 (Each player’s age 45 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.7. Combined Age 120 (Each player’s age 50 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.8. Combined Age 130 (Each player’s age 55 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.9. Combined Age 140 (Each player’s age 60 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.10. Combined Age 150 (Each player’s age 65 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.2.11. Combined Age 160 (Each player’s age 70 yrs above)
(1) Men’s Doubles (2) Women’s Doubles (3) Mixed Doubles
4.3 3P (3-PLAYER vs 3-PLAYER) EVENT
4.3.1. 3P Combined Age 200
(1) Woman-player must be aged 60 and above
(2) Man-player must be aged 65 and above
4.3.2. 3P Combined Age 220
(1) Woman-player must be aged 65 and above
(2) Man-player must be aged 70 and above
4.3.3. All Participants in this 3P category are limited to only ONE entry for this
event.
4.3.4. Rules of 3P Events
4.3.4.1. Players: Each Entry for the 3P Event must consist of three players –
either 1 Woman plus 2 Men or 2 Women plus 1 Man,
hereafter designated as a “TEAM”
4.3.4.2. Position: A team using two players in front will be designated as player
“A” and “B” and one player in the rear of court will be
designated as “C”. Practically, player “C” should be the
strongest of the team.
4.3.4.3. Scoring System: The rally point system should apply with server “A” or
“B”
4.3.4.4. Receiving a Serve: Besides Player A or Player B to receive the service,
Player C could only help to receive the long
service for Player A or Player B. The front service
can only be received by Player A and Player B.
5 VIP EVENTS CATEGORY
5.1. The type of events are Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles and the events are invited by the Organizer.
6 SCORING SYSTEM
6.1. All events in this REDBULL 19th World Chinese Badminton Championships 2012 will compete over ONE game of 31 rally points system.
6.2. All players are required to change ends at 16 points.
7 ENTRY CLOSING DATE / FAREWELL PARTY
7.1. All entries information will be announced on as below website:

7.1.3. The entry will be accepted by internet. NO Acceptance by Telephone,
Fax, etc.
7.2. All entries must be submitted to Organisers by Sat 30 Jun 2012.
7.2.1. All entries will be announced onto the official website on Sun 15 Jul 2012.
7.2.2. Please contact Organizer within 3 days after announcement day if there
are changes or missing entries.
7.2.3. The final competition schedule will be announced onto the official website
on Wed 22 Aug 2012.
7.3. The Team Managers’ Meeting will be held on Thu 30 Aug 2012 at 1600 hrs
7.4. The FAREWELL Party will be held on Sun 2 Sep 2012 at 1800 hrs
8 TRANSPORTATION
8.1 Free transportation TO/FROM the Airport will be provided to all foreign players
who are staying at the Official Hotels.
8.2 Kindly inform us of your Flight Details at least 7 days in advance if you require
our services.
9 AWARDS / PRIZES
9.1 Prize Monies (TBC) and Medals will be awarded to OPEN Events as follows:
9.2 Medals will be awarded for all respective Events as follows:
9.2.1 Top 8 places out of 33 entries or more (as the same 5th Place)
9.2.2. Top 4 places out of 8 ~ 32 entries
9.2.3. Top 3 places out of 6 ~ 7 entries
9.2.4. Top 2 places out of 4 ~ 5 entries
9.2.5 Top 1 places out of 3 entries
9.3 Award winners are required to claim their awards at the designated platform 30
minutes after the conclusion of each event.
